The Crossing Reaction
March 23rd, 2009
Last night as a youth group we joined with others from the church to watch The Crossing. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I was thoroughly depressed by this movie. I’m sure this was the intention, and it worked. I was hoping against hope that the last story line would work out and then bang – they take it away.
Does anyone know if this was a retelling of an actual person’s story or if its just “based on events that have happened?” Also – what was your reaction? How will you respond to it?

I was really upset about the ending. I hated it. Endings should be happy! I’d never really stopped to think of how bad the conditions could be in North Korea. That movie really opened my eyes to the suffering and abuse innocent people are receiving there. I’ve just started reading about Moses in the Bible and I realized that the situation the Israelites were in with Pharaoh is a lot like the North Koreans with Kim Jong-il. Now we just need a Moses and a burning bush…
